Please feel free to contact me with any questions. While I can not help fix how your SOA or individual domain name records are set up, I'll try to point you in the right direction.

Also, I can not guarentee how other's DNS servers will work so, if you change the name server entry (currently ns.auomagical.net), I can not ensure that it will work properly.

At some point, I will update this script to itteratively search for the authoritative domain. For now, do a NS lookup and then come back here and put the NS info in the form above and re-run the query.

Instructions

  • Lookup all information for a name
    1. Enter name in 'Name/Number' field
    2. Change 'Name Server' field as needed
    3. Click 'Lookup'
  • Lookup name given a number
    1. Enter IP Address in 'Name/Number' field
    2. Change 'Name Server' field as needed
    3. Click 'Lookup'
  • Lookup the name servers for a domain
    1. Enter domain name in 'Name/Number' field
    2. Change 'Name Server' field as needed
      • The root server is a.root-servers.net
    3. Click 'Lookup'
  • Lookup the mail exchanger(s) for a domain
    1. Enter domain name or host name in 'Name/Number' field
    2. Change 'Name Server' field as needed
    3. Click 'Lookup'
  • List contents of a domain
    1. Enter domain name in 'Name/Number' field
    2. Change 'Name Server' field as needed
    3. Click 'Lookup'
  • List names in a subnet
    1. Enter subnet number in 'Name/Number' field
    2. Change 'Name Server' field as needed
    3. Click 'Lookup'
  • Display Start of Authority
    1. Enter the domain (zone) name in the 'Name/Number' field.
    2. Change 'Name Server' field as needed
    3. Click 'Lookup'
